STATE INSTITUTE OF HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE

About Us

Our History

With an aim to impart quality skill enhancement trainings and technical support services to the health sector professionals, the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Parimahal, was established on 2nd October 1976. Being the apex training institution in the State under H&FW department for various health functionaries, it strives to refresh and update knowledge and skills of the healthcare personnel.

Parimahal, the Palace of Fairies or the Enchanted Palace, was once the part of the territory of the former princely state of Keonthal and belonged to the erstwhile rulers of Jubbal. The old building today houses the administrative wing of the State Institute of Health & Family Welfare, which shifted here from Mondodhar in District Solan in 1979. Before this, the building served as a residence for the sitar maestro, Ustad Vilayat Khan. There is also a newly constructed building, which houses the Conference hall, Lecture Hall, Skill Lab and hostel.
